In Moldova there are still many people who face discrimination. Most often on the basis of age. At the same time, victims do not always know where to go and how to protect themselves in such situations. To combat this phenomenon, non-governmental organization "Legal Clinic Comrat" continues to hold informational meetings in which it explains what discrimination is and how to act if you are faced with it.
Two meetings were held in the villages of Congaz and Cotovschi, where residents were given booklets with information about anti-discrimination. Many residents told their stories of encountering this phenomenon, but were afraid and did not know where to turn. One resident noted that several years ago she wanted to get a job as a salesperson, but the store owners said they needed a younger worker.
In order to have fewer such situations and for people to be able to defend their rights, we will continue informational meetings in other towns of Gagauzia.
It is worth mentioning that informational meetings are held within the project "Counteracting discriminatory practices on the territory of ATU Gagauzia". It is implemented by "Comrat Legal Clinic", financially supported by the European Union and co-financed by Sweden with the support of East Europe Foundation
