"Legal Clinic Comrat" continues to inform residents of Gagauzia about their rights

More than 20 residents of the town of Ceadâr-Lunga and the village of Chirsova learned about the social benefits that exist in Moldova and to whom, and under what conditions they are due, during the regular information meetings held in February by the Association "Legal Clinic Comrat".

The experts of the Comrat Legal Clinic explained in detail what social benefits exist and to which categories of Moldovan citizens they are intended. Also, the attendees were explained what documents are necessary to receive the allowance and where to apply for it.

"I found out about this event by chance. In principle, it was useful for me to learn about the benefits, because it turns out that our family could count on a benefit for the cold period, but we did not know about it and did not apply", said Tatiana, a resident of Kirsovo village.

"At today's meeting it was clear that people know little about social assistance, how to get it and what documents are required. It is necessary to explain and prompt more often. Thanks to the organizers for their help," commented a participant from Ceadyr-Lunga.

According to Natalia Baurculu, chairwoman of the Comrat Legal Clinic, such events will continue in order to help as many people as possible, potential beneficiaries of the association. "We are continuing the project of informing the residents. We still see how important such information is, how many residents do not know their rights and cannot use them, and of course we will continue to tell residents of Gagauzia about the social assistance that operates in Moldova", said Natalia Baurciulu.

The events are held within the project "Protection of rights of vulnerable and marginalized people living on the territory of ATU Gagauzia". The project is implemented by the public association "Legal Clinic Comrat", as a beneficiary organization of the project "Increasing efficiency and access to justice in Moldova", implemented by UNDP in Moldova in partnership with the Institute for Criminal Reform, with financial support from Sweden.
