The residents of Tomai and Ferapontievca villages became familiar with what social benefits exist in Moldova, to whom and under what conditions they are entitled. Representatives of the organization "Legal Clinic Comrat" told about this during information meetings - public lectures.
From September 15 to 17, four information meetings were held, attended by dozens of residents from two villages. The experts, two lawyers from the "Legal Clinic Comrat" spoke about the social benefits that are paid in Moldova. Especially, the residents were interested in how the amounts of benefits are formed and what documents are necessary to receive the benefits.
According to Natalia Baurculu, chairwoman of the "Comrat Legal Clinic" organization, such events are useful and important for the population. "Not everyone has the opportunity to go to the cities, to receive consultations, so it is important that we come to the citizens in the settlements, educate and explain. The topic of social benefits is always important because it affects a large number of people from vulnerable categories", - said N. Baurculu.
The events were held within the project "Protection of the rights of vulnerable and marginalized people living in ATU Gagauzia". The project is implemented by the public association "Legal Clinic Comrat", as a beneficiary organization in the UNDP project in Moldova "Improving efficiency and access to justice in Moldova", implemented in partnership with the Institute for Criminal Reform with financial support from Sweden.
